This session will review some of the recent developments around the calculation of holiday pay. As things stand, employees are entitled to receive their “normal remuneration” whilst on annual leave. Traditionally this was interpreted as being an employee’s basic rate of pay. However a number of recent ECJ decisions have widened this to include other elements of pay.
Jawaid is a Partner in the Employment and Pensions team at Weightmans. He has extensive experience of advising on the legal aspects of implementing pay schemes, restructuring and industrial relations issues, as well as a specialism in the management of equal pay claims.
Bhavesh qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and is currently an Associate for the Midlands Employment Team. He works primarily from the Birmingham office. He has experience of dealing with contentious and non contentious queries for public sector clients involving Data Protection and FOIA. He also works with a range of private sector clients including Pizza Express and TGI Friday’s.
