Overview:
The purpose of the course is to review and discuss precedent clauses, identifying their advantages and pitfalls in everyday use. It is relevant in a number of different contractual contexts from purchaser to supplier and bespoke contracts to standard terms and conditions. It will also enable delegates to select an area of the contract for group discussion in an Open Forum.

Interactive elements
The second part of the course will take the form of a group discussion enabling delegate to discuss live issues that they have come up against and to that end we would encourage delegates to bring examples along with them to enable us to explore ways to address topics raised. The intention will also be to discuss some precedent clauses at this time.

Presenter profiles:
Michelle Craven-Faulkner is a well-respected commercial contracts lawyer with a strong background having worked in-house for many years prior to joining private practice.
Michelle has a real ability to understand her Clients’ requirements in order to document them in a way that is clear, concise and user friendly.
With a particular expertise in cross border arrangements and often for Clients who are highly innovative both in terms of products (goods and or services) and contracting structure, Michelle works closely with Clients in all sectors to achieve solutions which work for them rather than attempting to mould Clients into.
In addition Michelle provides advice on all aspects of the supply and purchase of assets, goods and services with a particular interest in engineering and major projects. Her background in industry brings a strong connection to the rail sector which is a particular specialism as is her work with renewable energy companies.
She is regularly called upon to speak on these topics at seminars and workshops, contributes comment and articles to the press and provides guest lectures to local universities on Contract Law.
