This session will focus on the cabinet office’s consultation draft of the public contract regulations issued on 19th September. It will examine the choice of procedures, simplification of processes for local authorities, public to public cooperation and the controversial Lord Young reforms. There will be time for questions and a (very short) quiz with prizes!

Peter is a partner with Browne Jacobson LLP and heads up their government and infrastructure team, specialising in public procurement and local authority law. He advises clients in relation to the European procurement regime, projects and complex contracts, state aid, shared services, PPP, PFI and public sector outsourcing. Peter is an executive committee member of the Procurement Lawyers Association, chairing one of the sub groups looking at the impact of the new public procurement directive on SMEs. He is also a Local Partnerships Gateway Reviewer.
